This past weekend, I drove 3 hours outside of New York city to the snow dusted Catskills to Discover Scribner’s Lodge, a woodsy retreat perfect for city slickers looking for a taste of the mountain life.
As soon as we entered the King Loft, we were greeted by a wood burning fireplace, s’mores, and a bi-level room, perfect for rest and relaxation.
What to do at Scribner’s? Ice skate on the Glice Rink (this is fake ice)…
Play Board or Yard Games…
Or grab a bite at Prospect, the on site restaurant…
The food was hearty and tasty. My travel companion and I were fans of the Apple Cider, Caccio et Pepe pasta, and squash soup!
If you’re in NYC and feel wary of flying, rent a car and get up to the Catskills for a quick escape.
