New York Fashion Week is officially underway, and Day 1 was all about classic American style!
I kicked off the day at J. Press, where preppy New England style took center stage with layered knits, mixed plaids, loafers, tweed and polished “borrowed from the boys” looks. I also caught up with Creative Director Jack Carlson, who spoke to me about the British roots of American Ivy style and the exciting return of J. Press womenswear for the first time since the ’60s.
Next, I headed to Coach, where the brand celebrated 85 years with a full-on fashion party. The collection evolved from understated neutrals into sequins, metallics and confetti-covered accessories, culminating with leather party hats, live music, dancers and a celebratory finale.
With Fashion Bomb Daily celebrating 20 years this week, there couldn’t be a better time to be back at NYFW doing what I love—reporting from the shows, interviewing designers and, of course, serving a little fashion of my own.
And it’s only Day 1!
