Hey!
So one of the benefits of going to Caribbean Fashion Weeks (aside from the sun, pool time, and sand) is discovering new designers!
I certainly have found a favorite in Charu Lochan Dass:
Her latest collection features a bevy of fluttering dresses that move in the wind. Because they’re sheer, they work best as swim cover ups.
In addition to tantalizing white pieces, she has a slew of dressier options, many teaming with embellishments. I tried on this sequined high low skirt that I MUST HAVE.
And went ahead and purchased this silk plunge snake print top.
Unfortunately the issue I’m finding with a lot of smaller, local designers: many don’t have e-commerce and don’t have a ton in stock.
Though I fell in love with the high low skirt, I couldn’t purchase it right away, as it wasn’t my size. Even the white dress is a small (but I made it werk)! If I want something, Charu will have to make it for me specifically, which means you guys might not be able to buy it as readily as other brands. Also, the price is higher.
But hopefully with some exposure Charu can gain the resources she needs to produce enough to satisfy a larger audience.
What do you think? Are you feeling Charu Lochan Dass??
