I just got back from a quick trip to LA for the Inaugural Fashion Trust Awards:
The ceremony gives funds to emerging designers. The room was star studded, with attendees like Tracee Ellis Ross, Sabrina Elba, Heidi Klum, Draya Michele, Jason Rembert, Law Roach, and Ciara:
For the occasion, I wore a Rick Owens dress:
I also wore a waist trainer, which was showing, and pushing into my skin…. And I didn’t need it! When I saw pix, I was mortified (the photographers are just telling you to smile, no-one will tell you to fix your dress!).
I only noticed it AFTER I had taken a bunch of pix. And then I took it off. But the damage had been done.
I am always hard on myself (and I didn’t even peep the comments), but you know what? You live and you learn!
I had never worn a dress like that before and felt secure in my shapewear. But I didn’t need it. And this is just a lesson to learn for next time to check every angle before you leave the house.
My first goal was to BE on Getty, now my new goal is to look GREAT on Getty. Here’s to setting goals, entering new rooms, and shining all the way.
Thank you for the team at Shop with Google for inviting me. A girl could get used to this!
Love & Light,
