I’m Going Underground + No Meat for At Least 3 Weeks (Wanna Join Me?)

Hey Bomb Lifers!! So I’m on a deadline to finish my forthcoming book, which will loosely be called The Bomb Life (duh). It’s going to be about how I turned a blog into a business and I have 8 chapters to go!! My goal is to finish it this week, thus I will be going off the radar to get my type on, only emerging twice a day to check my e-mail and phone. Seems hard, but I remember when…

Where to Eat in Minneapolis, Minnesota: Café Lurcat

Happy Sunday! I just returned to NYC from after spending 24 hours in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the home of Prince! Though I didn’t have a chance to pop by the Mall of America (apparently the largest mall in the United States), I always make time to eat! Cafe Lurcat (1624 Harmon Pl, Minneapolis, MN 55403) is bomb. Apparently Prince loved to eat there, and it was easy to see why. Everything from the bread to the appetizers and desserts are mouth…

The Bomb Restaurant New York: Alta Linea at the Highline Hotel

I have a few ‘haunts’ in the city: Blue Ribbon in Brooklyn. The Modern in Midtown. And now Alta Linea in Chelsea. Some members of the Fashion Bomb crew met there yesterday, outside, to think of master plans. And drink. LOL. I loved the Peekytoe Crab (crab meat over avocado), the Chicken (served over spinach–so tasty!), and a frozen drink called the Sgroppino which is basically frozen lemonade with prosecco and mint. Bombs were going off in my mouth. They’re…

The Bomb Life Lagos, Nigeria Travel Guide: Where To Eat, Where to Stay, Where to Shop

Happy Monday, folks! As you’re well aware, I spent the past week in Lagos, Nigeria, visiting fabric markets, luxury boutiques, and more! During my time there, I patronized restaurants, did a bit of shopping, and lived it up! Take a look at a few Fashion Bomb tips for Lagos: 1. How to Get There. We were booked on a direct flight from JFK to Lagos on Arik Air, a Nigerian airline operating a domestic, regional and international flight network. I…

Tavern On the Green Style Diary: A T by Alexander Wang Tee, Helmut Lang Skirt, and Gianvito Rossi Silver and Black Pumps

Hey! This past weekend, I headed uptown for a meeting at Tavern on the Green (67th and Central Park West). When I told people I was going to Tavern on the Green, a lot expressed surprise that it was still open! Well, it is open, vibrant, and the food is the bomb! Under the direction of Chef John Stevenson (pictured below), the meals are nothing short of delish. A few dishes I recommend: The Seared Sea Scallops to start. The…

Rio de Janeiro Day 2 Style Diary: A Markus Lupfer Top and a Demestiks by Reuben Reuel Peplum Skirt

So my sisters and I have been social butterflies since we touched down! On night one, we were graciously invited to a birthday party (shout out to Ky!). For Easter Sunday, we grabbed dinner with new friends at a delicious restaurant called Guimas. For our night on the town, I went for an Afro-Caribbean inspired look in a Markus Lupfer top and a skirt by Demestiks by Reuben Reuel. Shout out to my sister Toni for 1. having the patience…

The Bomb Restaurant New York: Madiba Brooklyn

So my homegirl had a birthday brunch at Madiba over the weekend. Madiba, which is located at 195 Dekalb Avenue, is a yummy Fort Green outpost with South African fair. Hmm..so what to order? I got the Bushman’s Breakfast (apparently the term is politically incorrect–I had no idea!). The sumptuous meal consisted of eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomato, and toast. It was filing and perfect for Sunday brunch. Two of my friends got the lobster tail over rice. Looks bomb, but…

The Bomb Restaurant: Birds and Bubbles New York

Happy Monday! i’m sitting here nursing yet another serious eye infection, wondering if I need to just bite the bullet and get Lasik surgery. These contact complications are not the biz!! At any rate, before I was thus afflicted, I hit up NYC hot spot Birds and Bubbles to indulge in a bit of post Thanksgiving fried chicken and champagne. Yes, you read that currently. This restaurant specializes in fried yard bird and bubbly. It is basically heaven on earth.…
