So as I mentioned here, I was invited to Paris by the Ministry of Tourism to see the trade shows aka Promosalons. I was beyond juiced to stay at Le Meurice, a swanky hotel located in the middle of all the action in Paris on Rue de Rivoli (exact address: 228 Rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris, France).
Le Meurice epitomizes luxury. I mean, take a look at this hotel!
Yasss, I was having a Sex and the City moment!
A quick rundown on the Pros and Cons of this glorious property.
Location, location, location. This 5 star gem is located right across from the Tuileries and the Louvre, which means it’s walking distance from Place de la Concorde, the Obelisk, Champs Elysees, Colette…
Aside from the location, it is gorgeous. It’s truly candy to your eyes. I also loved that they have 24 hour room service, which is a serious rarity in Paris. Order up a Croque Monsieur or Spaghetti Bolognese if you’re feeling nibbly at night.
Price! For 5 stars in Paris, expect to pay serious coin. We enjoyed a special rate of 500 Euros per night, but the regular rate is a pearl clutching 800 Euros per night. Good news: you get what you pay for.
The high prices extend from the rooms to the price of food. We ordered shots of tequila for 5 friends one night and had a 300 Euro bill. Zoinks!
If price is no issue, let’s keep it real: a few hotel guests will look at you crazy if you’re black. Because not a ton of black people stay here. Heck, few even work there! But such is life. Pretty much everyone looked at me crazy in Paris because of all the fur and sparkles. We know that we as a people have a ways to go in terms of our image abroad, which is why we need to travel extensively! And represent!
