Before I left New York City, I took a moment to celebrate a successful month the best way I know how—with good food and even better company. I met up with my college friends for dinner at Philippe Chow, which recently reopened at its new location on 10 East 52nd Street in Midtown.
The ambiance was electric from the moment we walked in—dim lighting, a buzzing crowd, and that unmistakable New York energy that makes every dinner feel like an occasion. It felt like the perfect setting to toast to wins, reflect on the month, and just enjoy being present.

We decided to go all in and ordered the three-course signature tasting menu, which offered a full experience of Philippe’s classics. The first course included favorites like chicken satay, Peking duck spring rolls, house salad, chicken lettuce wraps, and a steamed dumpling sampler. For the main course, we had a variety of dishes including crispy duck with house-made pancakes, Beijing chicken, sweet & sour chicken, Grand Walnut Sesame Prawns, crispy beef, Chilean sea bass, and Maine lobster—each one bringing its own flavor and texture to the table.
Of everything we tried, a few dishes definitely stood out. The steamed dumplings were perfectly done, the Nine Seasons spicy prawns had just the right kick, and the lychee martini? A must. Light, refreshing, and the perfect complement to the meal.

It was one of those dinners that reminded me how important it is to pause and celebrate—especially with people who’ve known you through every phase. New York always delivers, and this was no exception.
If you find yourself in Manhattan, make a reservation at Philippe Chow. Tell them I sent you.
