A few days ago, a few of my colleagues invited me to the Graduate Hotel, an unexpected enclave located on New York’s Roosevelt Island (22 N Loop Rd, New York, NY 10044).
After breezing through their artsy lobby, decorated with copious books and a giant sized b-boy holding up a light bulb chandelier, you are transported up to their rooftop aka the Panorama Room, which has arguably one of the best views in New York City.
I walked in, slack jawed, befuddled that I had never heard of or been to this place before–even after living in New York for almost two decades.
It’s definitely a sight to behold. The drinks are tasty, and food is yummy (I’d recommend the truffle fries and the caviar nachos). The Graduate Hotel is Fashion Bomb Approved!
I took an Uber there from Brooklyn, but you can hop on a ferry to get there yourself. Find directions here.
I actually spoke to the owner, who said that the hotel is also great for staycations, as each spacious room has a dope view of the city. If you need an ‘island’ retreat, this one might fit the bill. And it’s right in your backyard.
