This year didn’t start off quite like I planned. My father passed away. Life was in flux. And in a fearless, f*ck it moment, I decided to go shorter and blonder than I ever have before…
The fabulous Jasmine of Razor Chic did the honors. Hairstylists typically call this shade of blonde “suicide blonde” because one false move could render you completely bald. This seemingly simple short ‘do took 5 hours. Jasmine did an amazing job (if I do say so myself).
My birthday fell at an awkward time this year. My Dad passed on January 2nd and my birthday was on the 12th. Shooting with Derek Blanks and collaborating with my Atlanta fashion FAMILY certainly lifted my spirits. Shout out to Fiskani of The Ivy Showroom for the coat and Lahluvie who did my makeup. In addition to making me look beautiful, they encouraged me with their kind words.
Going through this period showed me that the Fashion Bomb Daily community is deeper than fashion. I felt real love and support, was showered with genuine concern and prayers, and for that, I am grateful.
