So in the past few weeks, I’ve been seriously contemplating what I’m going to do in the next chapter of my career.
Sorry to say, I won’t be a blogger forever! While I plan to keep Fashion Bomb Daily going, I don’t think I’ll be as personally involved after the next couple years (I’m gonna hire a staff and manage from afar. I’ll still be up on TheBombLife.com, though!). At any rate, TV, even from behind the scenes, has always been a dream of mine.
So yesterday when I received an invite to go to a Foster Grant sunglasses party with Kat Graham, I got my whole ‘team’ to come with so that I could interview her. I wanted to do more than just take pictures and say I met her;)
It was so funny because the PopSugar website went right before me, and they had all these lovely lights, 4 cameras, cordless mics…their host had notecards with PopSugar written on the back.
I had my one guy, Sam, and he had a digital camera on a tripod with one light (my photographer, Pierre, was also on deck taking stills). My questions were written on my Iphone. We actually asked the Pop Sugar team if we could use their lights, and they were kind enough to say yes. LOL. But I guess this is how it works when you first start out.
At any rate, Kat was lovely, as she reads Fashion Bomb Daily, and she had so many nice things to say. We instantly hit it off, and I hope the video captures how much fun we had.
Kat tends to go for edgy, so I had Sammy Lacombe whip my hair into a mohawk type updo, and Shalea Walker smoke out my eyes.
In terms of my ensemble, it was all about my Moschino Bad Girl Belt! I played with a black and gold theme with Brian Atwood Studded Abell Sandals and about 4 stacks of Nasty Gal bangles.
I said it on Instagram, and I’ll say it here: the shoes are cute, but there’s always a catch! The heel isn’t so bad, but that ankle strap…! I have blisters and rubbed away skin from it. They’re not a game.
That said, the rubbing only happened after several hours of wearing them, so I guess they’re moreso ‘sit and look cute’ shoes. They wouldn’t be the first or last pair of hot heels that fit that criteria.
In the end, getting interviews is hard work! Doing interviews is also difficult. But all gets better with time and practice.
I won’t give up.
Hold me to it.
Stay tuned for the video next week;)
