Lagos Style Diary Day 2: Cocktails with Claire Part 2 at Radisson Blu in a Duckie Confetti Custom Sequined Fashion Bomb Jersey and Christian Louboutin Asteroid Pumps + Come to Africa

So Cocktails with Claire Part 2 took place in the evening at the Radisson Blu Hotel!
I decided to sparkle in a custom sequined jersey by New York designer Duckie Confetti.

Though I’m in Nigeria, I wanted to represent the United States, New York City, and the Fashion Bomb brand!

I elongated my legs in Christian Louboutin Asteroid Pumps I got years ago. Are we ready for platforms to make a come back?

To my fellow bloggers and digital influencers of color: Come to Africa.
For so long I carried a bit of bitterness towards the American and European Fashion Industries, particularly when it came to Fashion Week. Regardless of how hard I worked or how big a following the site attained, it seemed I could never get the same access or respect as the Man Repellers, Bryan Boys, and Blonde Salads of the world. Here, influencers of color are appreciated because we are speaking to those who look like us, get us, and see themselves in us.

As much as I love my country, my country doesn’t always love me. In Africa, you really do feel at home!
Hey, it is the motherland. Food for thought.
