So I’m in LA!
I landed yesterday morning and slept for a few hours before heading to Essence’s Annual Black Women in Hollywood Awards!
This is my 4th or 5th time going (stay tuned for a throw back/evolution at the end of this post), and it’s always a great time! It’s like a family reunion mixed with loads of inspiration. I strongly feel like I hear some of the best and most motivational, uplifting speeches at Essence Black Women in Hollywood! Go when your cup needs to be refilled!
I was seated at a table with women who inspire me, including Milan Harris of Milano di Rouge, Monique Rodriguez of Mielle Organics, Pinky Cole of the Slutty Vegan and Angela from The Shade Room (not pictured). It was pretty darn cool to be in the midst of so much black excellence.
For the occasion, I wore one of my favorite designers, Sergio Hudson! Shout out to my pix on Getty and Backgrid!!!
I also grabbed pix with some of my faves including Niecy Nash, Amber Riley, Yandy Smith, and Larenz Tate!
Yes, I used to have a huge crush on Larenz. What show was he on back in the 90’s? Anyway it’s always cool to see icon and legends IRL!
