So my homegirl had a birthday brunch at Madiba over the weekend.
Madiba, which is located at 195 Dekalb Avenue, is a yummy Fort Green outpost with South African fair.
Hmm..so what to order? I got the Bushman’s Breakfast (apparently the term is politically incorrect–I had no idea!). The sumptuous meal consisted of eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomato, and toast. It was filing and perfect for Sunday brunch.
Two of my friends got the lobster tail over rice. Looks bomb, but one of them sent it back and the other barely finished it.
Other friends got everything from Oxtails to Roti. I didn’t hear any complaints!
Overall the food is quite tasty. Service was on the slow side, but we were a large party!
Lastly, you must try the Zulu Lulu. It’s a mix of gin, organic ginger liqueur, fresh squeezed lime, slices of cucumber, and Secrets of the Valley juice (made with apples, cherries, black currants and pears). It is absolutely delish (and so good, I forgot to take a picture of it)!!
At any rate, if you’re ever in Brooklyn, be sure to swing by Madiba at 195 Dekalb Avenue. Make a Reservation if you’re a party of 2 or more.
Love & Light!
