The Bomb Life: Learning to Relax in a Norma Kamali Swimsuit and a Camilla Cover Up from Designers Club Lagos

I’ll admit it: I’m a workaholic. Rihanna’s song, Work, resoundingly rings in my head, every day all day.
When I headed down to Miami for Art Basel, I didn’t really have or make plans. I just wanted to finally experience it, and in a way, I did. But with a schedule markedly clear and no panels, hosting gigs, or masterclasses in sight, I decided to unwind a bit.

While lazing on the beach with a glass of rosé, fending off greedy seagulls and pigeons from my delicious shrimp quesadilla, I felt a pang of guilt. I knew my inbox was filling up (I currently have 138,415 unread messages and 102 missed calls). But sometimes, we all need to learn how to turn off the phone and give ourselves at least a day to be 100% selfish with our time.

Kelley and I listened to Solange, ordered fruity drinks, flirted with a very chiseled man on the beach (who conveniently didn’t have a swimsuit, only underwear to parade around in), and dozed in and out of slumber. It was amazing.

Of course I had my laptop nearby because FBD is not at the point yet where I can go completely ghost. But I cracked it open maybe once.
Take care of yourself mentally. Give yourself a moment to unwind, refresh, then go hard again.
