Yesterday, I was extremely proud to unveil Fashion Bomb Daily’s first exclusive editorial of 2020: a shoot showcasing bold, tenacious love featuring Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton of the Netflix Show Love is Blind:
Right now, the world is literally on edge, with prejudicial practices being exposed at several fashion brands. US Vogue’s Anna Wintour was the latest to admit to ‘ intolerant and hurtful ‘ behavior at the helm of the glossy (frequently dubbed the “Fashion Bible”).
Many many moons ago, it was my dream to work at US Vogue. While I am grateful to have interned at Paris Vogue and freelanced for Italian Vogue for several years, that editor position at American Vogue proved elusive.
GOD had other plans for me: to pursue my own path, encouraging positive change along the way.
The world–and the fashion industry–has been in a dark, hurtful, intolerant place for too long. How about a little Love and Light? As Lauren wrote, “Light cuts darkness.“
And Cameron said it best, “I want people to see that Black Lives Matter, Black Beauty Matters, [and] Black Fashion Matters. I want people to feel the love that Lauren and I have for each other; I wish to instill a sense of urgency in valuing Black Lives and a sense of hope that the type of love we share is possible. I believe that love conquers all and I want others to believe that too.”
