I was honored to be on this year’s Ebony Power 100 list, so flew to LA for a few days to attend the celebratory gala and take a few meetings!
For the event, I got a custom gown made by the kind folks over at Harlem Haberdashery.
I posted my look over at FBD, and I’ll be honest: for the first time in a long time, I didn’t read the comments. I know people are gonna say I should never wear a turtleneck again, and talk about my ample bosoms, and I’m tired of it. I’m tired of people trying to make me feel ashamed of my body and my boobs. I’m a woman. I embrace my femininity. I’m not going to mutilate myself to conform to anybodies body standards.
At any rate, the party was so fun, I’m still recovering!
I got a chance to chat with the ever so brilliant Quincy Jones, and he offered lots of fun stories and advice.
And to everyone who said he was hitting on me: Stop! I didn’t get that vibe from him, and if he was…blame the blue dress, LOL.
At any rate, I’m off to NYC to plan for Cocktails with Claire. Life is going full speed ahead.
Hope you’ll join me for the ride;)
