So I received my bag yesterday!!!
I was overjoyed (catch my victory dance on Snapchat before it disappears)! Afterwards, we had a celebratory lunch of Egusi Soup and Pounded Yam at Terra Kulture. Then, Pierre and I ventured out to the market to do a shoot.
When Pierre and I first drove past the market that morning, it was empty, so shooting there seemed like a great idea. By the time we got there, it was hustling and bustling. Imagine traffic, honking, and loads of people going about their day to day errands. I didn’t want to do the shoot anymore, but our team convinced me to forge ahead. We stopped traffic and voila.
Despite the somewhat serene look on my face, there were cars honking, and a crowd of people across the street looking on.
When I go to a foreign country, my goal is to be as respectful as possible of the culture. Also, believe it or not, my personality is more subdued–I don’t really court attention.
But, we’re filming for DZRPT Fashion, and the scene was quite entertaining. For the duration of this trip, I’ve had cameras follow me around for a documentary style piece that will air on Spice TV and DZRPT.
It has certainly forced me to step out of my comfort zone and into the spotlight.
It’ll take some getting used to, but it’s not so bad.
