Claire’s Life: The 49th Annual NAACP Image Awards Wearing Abyss by Abby from Moda Glam Boutique and Christian Louboutin Pumps

Happy Tuesday!
Last night I had the distinct pleasure of attending the NAACP Image Awards!

My homegirl, stylist Okera Banks, invited me as her plus one and I honestly thought I was just going to enjoy the festivities. Little did I know I would be walking the carpet, but hey, I rolled with it. I stuck out my leg and smiled.

I have a new level of respect for the celebrities we post rocking red carpets over at FBD! The level of glamour required is quite high, and everything has to be on point, from your dress to your hair and makeup. Even though I wasn’t totally prepared, I took some notes for next time. And I always say that these sorts of impromptu situations are always great fodder for my next book;)

At any rate, the awards were inspiring, and so well timed with Dr. King’s birthday. We mourned those we lost in 2017, celebrated the strides the community has made thus far, and prayed together for a brighter future. Black Hollywood is having a moment right now, and I’m so proud I’m able to bear witness and participate.

For the day, I wore an Abyss by Abby dress from Moda Glam Boutique and Christian Louboutin pumps. I now ascribe to the Aimee Song school of picture taking, so I got Okera to walk with me to this staircase to provide the perfect backdrop.

Hot! or Hmm..?
Here’s to many more red carpet moments…
Love & Light,

*Quick note to anyone attending any event: only wear Christian Louboutin shoes if you are not moving anywhere. I ended up leaving the after party bare foot because my toes felt like they were bleeding. Blood shoes indeed…

Yeah, I’m a little ashy. Yet another thing I’ll fine tune for next time:)
