When Toya Johnson and Marlo Hampton invite you out, you go! So 24 hours after turning up at the Studio Museum of Harlem Gala, I hopped on a Delta flight down to the A:
Marlo Hampton’s event called for Black Tie and Toya’s Player’s Ball requested pimp/ho attire (lol). It was hard to find a balance, so I wore a Nadine Merabi Lace Jumpsuit and items from FashionBombDailyShop.Com: an I Style by Sonia feather coat, Cult of Coquette pumps, and SybgCo Saint Louis Baguette Hoops.
It was cool to be present for a taping of Housewives! But it’s not what you’d expect. There’s no music (clearance issues) and the situations are very scripted i.e. you’re not able to organically come up and have conversations. All the ladies were in a corner with cameras, and everyone else was milling around. At any rate, it’s always good to see my fashionable Atlanta folk, like Marlo Hampton, Alonzo Arnold, and Angela Simmons!
Then I made my way over the Toya’s Player’s Ball themed party. Some costumes really adhered to the theme, so I was worried…until Toya showed up in a jumpsuit and feathers as well.
Fun times in the A. I don’t live here, but it’s always a good time.
Stay tuned for more instances from The Bomb Life!
