Hey!
So I’ve been slacking with updating here, but life is moving at a fevered clip! All I can say is: ask and ye shall receive. I’ve been wanting to participate in more events out and about (instead of spending most of my time behind the computer) and the Universe has responded in kind. It’s sometimes stressful, definitely tiring, but always a blessing!
I co-hosted the Industry Project’s first trade show in Atlanta over the weekend with Fabolous and Reco Chapple:
I grew up in Atlanta, so it’s always good to go back home! Atlanta has truly come into its own, especially with the proliferation of reality TV shows and the continued growth of the music industry. Suffice it to say, it’s pretty dope to have a connection to Hotlanta, and I was happy to be back and lend my support to the event.
ATL artisans and designers showcased their wares, which ranged from tees to destroyed denim and dresses.
I know a lot of FBD readers might look down their noses at things like this, but my whole goal is to celebrate the diversity of contributions to the Fashion Industry–from body shape to class and culture, and look at style from a regional and global perspective.
You never know what you’ll find when you approach situations with an open mind.
Before I get into what I wore, can we get into this beat?!?
Latasha Wright, who has worked with Kelly Rowland, Kandi Burruss, and many more, did my makeup for the day. She put her whole foot in it, no?
I loved it.
At any rate, I’ve been trying to be better about SAVING, so shopped my closet and slipped on a Topshop sequin shirt (previously worn here), and Michael Kors sequin jersey track pants.
I completed with barely there Christian Louboutin spiked sandals.
There you have it!
I love skirts, but it’s always fun to switch it up and try fun things. Sequins in the daytime? Definitely!
What do you think?
