Happy Sunday!
On Friday, I landed in Trinidad and Tobago for their Fashion Week! I’ve already sampled loads of Bake & Shark and Puncheon, and have been taking in the sites and sounds! So I figured Najah’s question was apropos for the next Ask Claire Feature!
She types, “Obviously for your job you do a great deal of traveling. How do you prepare for each trip mentally & physically? “
Well, Najah, there really isn’t much preparation! I have my packing ritual: bring a big suitcase, a carry on, and a personal item. Roll everything up. Throw my toiletries, books, and other essentials into the mix, and go!
I don’t really prepare–at all. I’m not one of those people who reads all the guide books and makes an itinerary. It was funny: my first trip to France, my ‘signature’ phrase was “Where are we going?” I never make a plan, I learn as I go, I stay open to new experiences, and have so much fun doing so.
There are (thankfully) always people in my group who have a plan. My sister, for example, had done all the research about Brazil. I literally just go with the flow. I guess my ‘plan’ is to be down for whatever (within reason, though I did pose with a snake today on the beach! More on that later).
Not sure if that answered your question. If not, be sure to leave a comment with follow up queries, and I’ll expound more.
About my outfits: I wore a Ground Zero Jacket, Rag & Bone Jeans, Prada triple strap wavy sandals, Rare Flare earrings, and a Bally clutch. At the beach, I wore an Andrea Iyamah swimsuit and cover up. I’ll do a separate post about that!
Chanel reflective shades set it off!
*At night, I wore a Roksanda Ilincic dress and Gucci sandals.
I also made some new friends;) Menswear blogger Marcus Troy and his twin brother, photographer Naska Demini. They are the bomb!
Stay tuned for more hot shots from TNT!
