Happy Monday, folks!
This Saturday, I scooted down to the Hamptons to cover the 17th Annual Art for Life Gala for Fashion Bomb Daily.
Hosted by Russell and Danny Simmons, the event raises funds for art schools and programs at underserved schools.
Every year has a theme, and this year’s was Back to the Future! The dress code called with Black, Purple, and Silver, with celestial accents.
I was invited kinda last minute, but thankfully I got the hook up! Shades of Shea (who I’ve worn here, here, and here) whipped up a pair of sequined pants for me, and I ordered a few tops that I prayed would work.
True story, the top I wanted to wear arrived and it was too small. So small that my chest looked completely flat! Thankfully I had another designer, Kareen Singh (from Cocktails with Claire), over at my house. And she was able to cut the lining out, cut the side, and add a chain to conceal her handiwork.
The things we do for fashion, I tell ya. But I think it turned out ok!
See how other guests interpreted the theme here.
It was a fun night, filled with charity, good will, and joy.
Thank you to Russell Simmons, Tangie Murray, and Kim Hatchett for having Fashion Bomb Daily, Pierre, and I yet again at Art for Life this year!
*Thanks to Camara Aunique for my silvery makeup look!
We’re going to start doing videos soon, promise.
