The notion isn’t necessarily new, though the application always holds true.

I was invited to a Dolce & Gabbana store opening, and was rushing around, trying to figure out what to wear. Alexander Wang’s Pleated Neoprene Dress came in handy. I kept the rest of my look simple and neutral with a Helmut Lang blazer and Givenchy shark tooth sandals.

As my style has evolved, I’ve learned that sometimes the simplest route is the easiest. No need for multiple bangles, bright lips, or dangling earrings.

Just bet on black.
