The Bomb Life Lodi, California Travel Guide: Where to Stay, What to Do + 3 Must Visit Vineyards

Happy Tuesday, Bombers and Bombshells!

This past weekend, I went to celebrate the 1st birthday of my college roommate’s baby in beautiful Lodi, California!

How cute is this baby?!?

I am so grateful I have a friend who lives in that part of the country, because it is hands down one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen in my life. Picture this: rolling green grass, miles of vines, peace, and NO MOSQUITOS! I was in heaven!

Lodi is a small town, so there’s not much to do aside from eat, read, and Tik Tok. Behold a quick guide:

1. How to Get There

I am very much a fan of Delta, so hopped on a quick flight from LAX to Sacramento. Lodi is about an hour away from Sacramento airport.

2. Where to Stay

Unlike Eleuthera, where I took a risk with an AirBNB, my friends and I rented a lovely vineyard house with a Superhost and dozens of 5 star reviews. The house was beautiful and luxurious! I have no complaints. The wifi could have been better, but I’ll never complain about not having being able to work lol. It was great! Stay there!

3. What to Do

On one of our down days, we stopped by three vineyards: Mettler Family Vineyards, Berghold Vineyards, and Michael David Winery. Every vineyard was unique in their own ways. Everyone was friendly. Wine tastings average $30 per person. Just get yourself a designated driver and have a good old time! Bonus: each vineyard has an outdoor area that looks like a Tuscan castle. It is the Bomb Life approved!

4. Where to Eat

Don’t expect Uber Eats, children! Our AirBNB was so remote that take out was simply not an option. Luckily, my friends and I grabbed a lot of Groceries from Sprouts, and cooked a lot of the time. When we made it to town, we ate at Oxford Kitchen, which was yummy! Other suggested spots included Pietro’s Italian and Wine & Roses.

5. Miscellaneous

Everyone in Lodi was super friendly! We had zero incidents. Not even one bug bite.

I’ll be honest, I’m always poised to encounter some nonsense, and the incident some black women experienced on a vineyard train tour was in the back of my mind, but we were totally fine.

Lod is a little bit random, BUT if you want a relaxing vacation, I’d highlight recommend it!

If you’ve been to Lodi, do you have anything to add?
