Last night, I took a quick flight to D.C. to see Hanifa’s first runway show.
I have been a Hanifa fan for years. I remember when they were first getting started and they would advertise on Fashion Bomb Daily! To see the brand continue to flourish and be recognized for what we’ve known for years makes my heart smile. The majestic National Portrait Gallery was filled with Hanifa customers, friends, and family: people who genuinely support and love the brand: People rooting for Anifa’s success.
I grabbed a pic with the Real Housewives of Potomac cast, who all wore Hanifa. It’s a testament to the brand that all women of all shapes and sizes could look good in their clothing!
I also grabbed pix with friends like Memsor Kamarake, Kalilah Wright of Mess in a Bottle, Ronne Brown of Girl CEO, Nadia Stewart, and more. It’s been years since I’ve been back in DC, and it felt good to come back for such a momentous occasion.
The collection was called Dream because Mvuemba said that her career and success is a dream come true. Her living her dream shows that it’s possible for us to express the biggest truest reflection of GOD’s purpose in our lives.
