The BET Awards are on June 9th, but the festivities kicked off last night with the inaugural Black Women in Music Dinner, hosted by the Connie Orlando Foundation. The Dinner was a stunning celebration of the Black women shaping the music industry—and I was truly honored to be in the room.
The intimate dinner brought together influential figures like Muni Long, Mona Scott Young, Tai Beauchamp, Candis Grace, and Claudine Joseph to honor trailblazers such as June Ambrose, Ciara, and Phylicia Fant for their remarkable contributions to music and culture.
The evening also served as a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness and research, blending purpose with power in a celebration of excellence and impact.
The brilliant and illustrious Connie Orlando, who graciously invited me, stunned in a Givenchy Large-Sequin Short-Sleeve Cocktail Dress, effortlessly setting the tone for an evening filled with elegance and intention.
It was a joy to be surrounded by so many inspiring women, each bringing something unique to the table.
For the occasion, I wore a silver Spring 2025 dress by Christian Siriano, styled with a matching clutch from the designer and silver heels by Jessica Rich. Thank you, Connie, for seeing me and for giving flowers to so many phenomenal women who are not only defining the soundtrack of our lives but reshaping the industry from within.
The Connie Orlando Foundation, with its mission to empower underserved communities through education, mentorship, and health advocacy, brought depth and purpose to the night’s festivities.
The Black Women in Music Dinner was more than a moment—it was a movement. And I left feeling inspired, grateful, and proud to witness what happens when Black women come together to celebrate, honor, and uplift one another.
Love & Light,
