The Bomb Travel: Day 1 of My Journey to Cuba + Update on My 20 Lb Bag Challenge

So my journey to Cuba has begun! My Dad has been a pilot since I was a wee little lass. Because of how complicated it still is to fly to Cuba, he decided to fly my sister, stepmother, and I to the country in his small plane. As many times as you may fly commercially, nothing can quite brace you for flying in a small plane. Every cloud and portent of bad weather makes the situation extremely precarious. Of course…

Airport Style Diary: A Robert Rodriguez Striped Blazer, Topshop Black Leather Shorts, and Stefano Maroni Striped Zebra Flats

So I’m in Atlanta, living it up for Memorial Day! I’ve tried wearing heels, thigh high boots, and all sorts of nonsense to the airport, and let me tell you. Not worth it! If your gate is far away, you’re screwed. Lace ups and thigh highs are hard to take off and put back on after going through security. AND your feet generally swell a little while in the air, so you’re just signing up for pain. I love sneakers…

Style Diary: Wearing a Shades of Shea Pink Sequined Bomber Jacket and Pencil Skirt to the Italia Independent x Nas Eyewear Launch

So last week, I popped by an Italia Independent event, celebrating a recent collaboration with Nas. Omari Hardwick, Malik Yoba, and more stopped by to lend their support. For the occasion, I wanted to sparkle and shine, so I slipped on yet another custom piece by Shades of Shea (I love her!!). The ensemble was sizzling enough, so I just anchored it with a white tank and Stuart Weitzman Nudist Sandals. What do you think? Images: Visuals by Pierre…

Claire’s Life: Pynk Magazine’s Power Dinner Honoring Me and Marlo Hampton

Happy Monday! I’m a busy bee today, putting items on Claire’s Closet and updating FBD! This weekend, I took a break with a fabulous dinner, sponsored by Pynk Magazine, honoring Marlo Hampton and I. Guests were treated to food by Omar’s Kitchen and drinks by Bollaire Rosé. It was bomb! I went for black and gold, slipping on a Jill Stuart sheer number with a Versace belt, gold choker, and Brian Atwood sandals. Marlo Hampton was queenlike in Pucci and…

The Bomb Restaurant New York: Alta Linea at the Highline Hotel

I have a few ‘haunts’ in the city: Blue Ribbon in Brooklyn. The Modern in Midtown. And now Alta Linea in Chelsea. Some members of the Fashion Bomb crew met there yesterday, outside, to think of master plans. And drink. LOL. I loved the Peekytoe Crab (crab meat over avocado), the Chicken (served over spinach–so tasty!), and a frozen drink called the Sgroppino which is basically frozen lemonade with prosecco and mint. Bombs were going off in my mouth. They’re…

The Bomb Life 101: Finding Faith and Fulfillment Through Fashion

Saturday marked another successful Cocktails with Claire! Each year, the event evolves. Years one and two, it was all about networking. Year 3, we added a shopping component. And for the last couple editions, we’ve added informational panels to give advice on how to break into entertainment, fashion, music, and more. This year was super special to me, for several reasons. First, I partnered with a fabulous woman, Miss Diddy LA (read my post called We are Stronger Together, here).…

Ask Claire: How do You Build a Team?

We’re relaunching our Ask Claire section with a query from Joslyn, who asked, “As a blogger who is still working a 9-5, I see why many bloggers have extra writers. It’s a lot to do on your own. My blog is growing and I need help keeping the content rolling in. Now that Fashion Bomb Daily is a well-oiled machine with a staff, my question is how did you prepare to bring in the extra help? For example, were there…

The Bomb Life 101: Set Specific Goals and Write Them Down

Now that I’m not relying on the ‘I Wore This’ outfit posts, I’ve been racking my brain about what to say! Even though I dispense lots of advice via The Bomb Life 101, let me state that I am by no means a life coach or an expert. I’ve never met a self help book I didn’t like, and most of what I’m offering to you is my interpretation of great advice culled from lots of reading and research. Long…
