New York Style Diary: A Zara Short Coat With Pockets, Pussybow Blouse, and Two Layer Button Up Skirt

I’ve been going like an energizer bunny this week!
From filming for Fashion Bomb TV to popping by events, my schedule and cup runneth over (and I’m flying out to LA tomorrow!).
At any rate, it’s still cold in New York, but life goes on! I decided to go for neutral tones for yesterday’s activities (press preview, meeting, dinner, club), in a short coat with pockets, pussybow blouse, and two layer button up skirt from Zara:

As I’m sure you know, Zara is a great place for basics, and the quality is pretty decent! True story, I purchased the blouse I’m wearing ca. 2009 in Paris. I wore it to interview at Women’s Wear Daily (didn’t get the job. Womp). At any rate, with basics, you can always add a bit of pizzazz with hot accessories. My accents of choice were my Balmain thigh high boots (cuissards), CC Skye vaulted clutch, and J.Crew jewels (their pendant necklace and tortoise cuff).

Though I stay splurging, it’s ok to save! And if you buy simple pieces, you can mix and match your looks for years on end.
