4 Restaurants to Decompress and Rest During New York Fashion Week

So Fashion Week is a lot of fun!
But as a Brookynite, it typically means heading to the city for hours at a time–which translates to me having to find places to post up and blog in between shows and events.

A lot of my engagements are ‘off site’ i.e. away from Lincoln Center. So I’ve uncovered places off the beaten path, yet close enough to popular show venues so I can recharge and relax.
Behold, my top 4 finds:

1. Cookshop (156 10th Ave at 20th street, New York, NY 10011)

Cookshop is the perfect spot to grab a meal after a show at Pier 59 (which is located at 11th between 18th and 19th). Any of their delicious salads will fill you up while keeping you in form, and their drinks are the bomb.com. Sit at the bar, or get a table by the window in the dining room.

2. The Standard Grill (848 Washington St at 13th , New York, NY 10014)

Hit up the Standard after a show at Milk Studios (450 W 15th St bet 9th and 10th). Not only is there fabulous people watching, but the food is delicious! Get something leafy if you’re feeling nibbly or order a massive burger to beat serious hunger. My friend Karen and I went the other day and ordered alllll this:

Yum!
Prices are on the high side, but nothing exorbitant. And the customer service is top notch! Bonus: when you’re done, head over to Jeffrey’s New York (449 W 14th St) for a bit of guilt free window shopping.

3. Ovest Pizzoteca (513 West 27th Street between 10th and 11th)

Head here after a show at Skylight Studios, which is also located on 27th street. I didn’t actually sample the food at this fine establishment, but I did have some tea at the bar between shows when New York decided to have a snow storm. Yeah. Credit card minimum is $10, so I learned, but it was a chill place. Nothing fancy, but perfectly situated.

4. Ed’s Chowder House (44 W 63rd St at Broadway, New York, NY 10023)

I’m sure any Lincoln Center aficionado will roll their eyes at the thought of Ed’s Chowder House, but what can I say? It’s a stone’s throw away from the main event, and fancy enough to make you feel fabulous! When I have a full show schedule, I have absolutely zero issue posting up here for hours. I like the Chowder, the Iceberg Lettuce Salad, Pasta with Clams, and the Salmon!
