New York Style Diary: A Hot Pink Preen Suit and Christian Louboutin So Kate Pumps

So last week, I was invited by Toyota to attend Oprah’s the Life You Want Weekend.

I can say without hesitation that Oprah is my career idol. How do I love her? Let me count the ways! The main thing about Lady O that resonates with me is how she uses her platform to promote positivity in people’s lives.

Her goal is to serve others. And though I work through the lens of fashion, I hope that via my blog, I’m helping someone out there feel prettier, acknowledged, and ultimately more empowered.

For my rendez vous with Mama Winfrey, I wore my version of a power suit: a hot pink number by Preen, topped off by Christian Louboutin pumps.

I actually shot these down by Wall Street and definitely stood out amongst the seas of black and grays. I guess that’s what being a fashion entrepreneur is all about. Offering a twist on the traditional–forging your own path in the spirit of Mother O.
