Happy Monday!

Today is going to be a wonderful day! Serena Williams once said that every day she says, “Something wonderful is going to happen today,” and that it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy, so I’m going to take a slice of her optimism and say the same.

Yesterday, something wonderful did happen! I first attended the Akris show, which was absolutely beautiful. Full of fringe, bold colors, and chunky knits, career driven women will find a lot to love and add to cart come Fall 2026. Read our review here.
After Akris, I decided to grab a meal at the Bar at the Ritz Hotel (please note, you should make a reservation for Bar Vendome, you don’t need a reservation for Bar Hemingway)! But first, I took a pic of my OOTD with Jeremy Melloul. The team at Lapointe was kind enough to send over this teal look, which I thought would look great with the Napolean Column in the middle of Place Vendome:

What do you think?
Also, there’s something to shooting with a photographer who is familiar with Paris. They know the best corners, best angles, I think Jeremy is super talented!
At any rate, earlier that day, my friend Helene texted me out of the blue. Turns out she was in town for 36 hours randomly, so we met up at the Ritz!
If you read my book, you’d recall that Helene was my ride or die when I lived in Paris back in 2008. When the ceiling in my apartment fell in, I stayed with her, on her tub, for a couple months while I could get back on my feet. I will never forget Helene’s friendship and generosity, never forget how she was my rock when I was going through the roughest patch of my life. It feels so symbolic that I saw her again, and under much fancier yet somewhat familiar circumstances. This truly feels like the year of full circle moments.

She introduced me to her friend Wendy Parker, and my friend Stephanie and her sister Michelle joined us as well! True story, when I went to the Ritz, they told me they were completely full, that I would have to wait an hour, they kinda said enough to dissuade me from staying. But I waited, and we ended up taking over the whole bar. I find lessons in everything. That lesson: just be patient and trust the journey.

Today is going to be another wonderful day BECAUSE I said so! And Serena Williams did, too.
Cop my book at Amazon, and stay tuned for more from The Bomb Life.
Love & Light,

I didn’t take many pix back in 2009, but I’m glad I took that one! Read the story behind it here.
