This look is a Bomb Life exclusive! You know when you put a look together, and it seems right, but then you put it on and it feels kinda wrong? Such was the case with yesterday’s Marni top and McQueen skirt combo, both from The Outnet. Why’d it feel awkward? I don’t know! I literally ran out of the house with my clothes barely buttoned, and seemed to be tugging on them all day. To whit, my encounter with Solange…
Day 3 New York Fall 2014 Fashion Week: A Demestiks by Reuel Reuel Naomi Red and Black Checked Shirt, Zara Leather Skirt, and Chanel Boy Tote
On Sunday, I popped by the Tracy Reese, DKNY, and Edun shows! For the day, I decided to focus on up and coming designer, Reuben Reuel. I love his African printed, peplumed tops and skirts! Love, love, love. The top was busy enough, so I kept everything else simple with a Zara pencil skirt, Christian Louboutin So Kate pumps, and a Chanel Boy bag from A Second Chance Resale. A lot of people have commented on Instagram and the site,…
So Fashion Week is a lot of fun! But as a Brookynite, it typically means heading to the city for hours at a time–which translates to me having to find places to post up and blog in between shows and events. A lot of my engagements are ‘off site’ i.e. away from Lincoln Center. So I’ve uncovered places off the beaten path, yet close enough to popular show venues so I can recharge and relax. Behold, my top 4 finds:…
Day 2 New York Fall 2014 Fashion Week: A Duckie Confetti Fur Coat, Zara Pussy Bow Top, All Saints Leather Pants, and Chanel Chain Belts
On Day 1 of NYFW, I was playing around with a barely warm Zara coat. For Day 2, I decided to go for serious warmth with a vintage fur coat from Duckie Confetti. The coat made quite the statement, so I kept my look simple with a Zara pussy bow top I’ve had since forever (at least 4 years) and my All Saints Leather Pants. I put a lot of focus on my accessories: 3 Chanel chain belts, Chanel earrings,…
Day 1 New York Fall 2014 Fashion Week: Givenchy Bambi Tee, Geometric Skirt, and Gianvito Rossi Leather and Perspex Heels
On Day 1 of New York Fashion Week, I took a turn for the trendy in a Givenchy Bambi t-shirt and a high waisted geometric skirt. I (barely) shielded myself from the cold in a Zara coat, and completed my ensemble with Gianvito Rossi’s leather and perspex pumps. Though the Rossi’s are not great for navigating the snow, they’re surprisingly comfortable! I further accessorized with Hermes and Chanel Baubles from A Second Chance Resale. I can’t say enough amazing things…
Started from the Bottom: Claire’s 6 Tips on Breaking into Fashion
Someone asked in a prior post how I started in the biz, so I decided to give you a bit of insight on what I did to get here, and how I’ve navigated these treacherous yet stylish waters. In the very beginning, posing with Andre Leon Talley ca. 2005 (?). I had a thing for J.Crew. Andre said he liked it! He was probably just being nice. In my mind, I’m far from successful (I’m trying to get that Oprah),…
