The Bomb Life Shoe Review: Jennifer Le 2BD Suede Studded Boots, Givenchy Shark Lock Wedge Knee Highs, Giuseppe Zanotti Harmony Sandals, and More!

Happy Wednesday, Guys!
So I stepped out last night for a series of events in a Balmain blazer, Zara turtleneck, Zara skirt, and Jennifer Le 2BD Thigh High Suede Boots:

Someone on Instagram asked if they were comfy, so I decided to do a quick review of some new shoes in my closet.
Let’s go!
1. Jennifer Le 2BD Suede Thigh Highs

I am happy to report that these are VERY comfy and they zipped up like a charm over my mutant calf muscles. I also got lots and lots and lots of compliments on them. I went to a party and people were like, “What do you do, because those shoes are BAD!” I wear a lot of stuff, but they’re not always a home run like these. If you’re thinking about them, GET THEM! You can’t go wrong.

2. Givenchy Shark Lock Wedge Boots

If you reference my lust list, these Givenchy stunners are on there as well (visualization is everything, y’all, try it one day! Write what you want down, you’ll find a way to make it happen). Anywho, I tend to splurge on one pair of shoes each season, and these were IT! The goal was to receive them and wear them to the airport, right in time for Thanksgiving. But when I got them (in a gorgeous box, I might add), the dern things didn’t come up past the bottom of my calf. They are narrow. I had them stretched once, and they got a little bit higher..suffice is to say they are still at the cobbler getting stretched.

The last I tried them on, they were able to come up to my knee, but the shark lock part was too short to comfortably close over my calves. My cobbler said that he is able to extend the strap (at first, he was like, “Do you need the strap?” and I was like YES, HELLO!), but what a disappointment. I wanted them to be kinda like my everyday boots, but they currently are a struggle to get on and off. I ended up wearing them to the airport because I was like…I got my new shoes (you know you have a plan in mind), but I had to have someone in security help me take them off to go through the scanner, and it took both my mom and I about 15-20 minutes to get them off once I got home.

My mom was like, “You should take them back!” but when you’ve been dreaming about and saving up for something, you just want to make it work! And all is not lost. With stretching, they now fit with a very sheer sock, and who knows, perhaps after a few more days. they’ll be roomy and comfy enough for me to slip into and out of with ease (and hey, maybe I can even wear them with jeans).
All that to say. you can’t wear them right out the box, and if you have LEGS, you’re going to need to have them stretched. A lot. But honestly, it makes me wonder how these girls are swimming in them…

They either have slender stems or an EXCELLENT cobbler. With that said, I don’t know if I would recommend all that hassle for the price.

3. Alaia Studded Suede Sandals

Hats off to Alaia, one of the greatest designers in the world. He knows how to dress women well–and comfortably. Once I have millions, it will be all about Alaia. That said, these shoes are comfortable. Great fit. I’d say to protect the suede before wearing them. I usually want to wear my shoes right out the box, but treat these with care and get them treated before putting them on to extend their shelf life.

4. Giuseppe Zanotti Harmony Sandals

It’s very possible I didn’t get the right size in these. I’m normally a 41, and I could only find a 40 in the whole country in this color (ditto for Givenchy but sometimes I can work with a 40). THAT SAID, I get nightmares every time I look at these shoes. They’re not the most uncomfortable (i.e. Louboutin So Kate pumps are the worst), but they aren’t too far off.

My pinky toe hangs off a little…look. Just pass these by. I kinda want to list them on Claire’s Closet

5. Iylia Black Booties

Now THESE are comfortable! After grabbing brunch at Lafayette, I walked around Soho in these for hours.

They are a great purchase for winter! And compared to the others, somewhat affordable. Get them here.

It’s interesting that the shoes designed by women are the most comfortable. Men can design beautiful shoes, yes, but they don’t have a concern for comfort or pain because they’ve never had to wear them. They’ve never experienced the distinct sensation of crushed toes over a long period of time.
At any rate, those are my thoughts!.Do you have anything to add?

*As I get older, I have a lower tolerance for pain. It’s like..why? I just want to be comfortable and cute.

**I invest in shoes. I’m hard on shoes. If anything, I’d recommend investing in shoes and bags, and saving on the rest. You can never go wrong.
