The day after Cocktails with Claire is always interesting. I’m always slightly hazy from the copious cocktails, a little fatigued, always worried if guests had a good time (!), yet humbled and overwhelmed that so many people came out to support this platform I decided to create one day while living in my studio apartment in Brooklyn. When I first started The Fashion Bomb, I never ever ever ever ever ever thought that my site would nurture a community of like minded individuals–fly, fabulous individuals who appreciate style, set trends, and step boldly in their truths. Though my name is on the event, it’s not about ME. It’s about Fashion Bomb Daily, it’s about style, tenacity in the face of adversity, supporting the underdog…am I rambling? At any rate, yesterday was a ‘Can someone pinch me, am I dreaming?‘ moment. Though I was focused on the people in front of me, I’d have moments when I’d look up and get misty at how many people were in the room.
I know some might mumble, “Who does she think she is?” And sometimes I think that about myself! But instead of continuing to question things, I’m just gonna go for it and continue to push it like O.T. Genasis. I encourage everyone to GO FOR THEIR DREAMS. Don’t worry about what anyone has to say about you. Focus on the support. Focus on the positive. And keep going. Don’t stop. Don’t let doubt or fear poison your thoughts.
