Happy Wednesday, folks!
I just got back to New York after spending over two weeks in California!! Like Paris, I wanted to to go LA to see how I felt. Though I had some lonely spells, some happy times, and some WTF moments, I know that LA will be a great move for me. It looks like the Fall will be my best bet. It’s perfect–I’ll leave just in time for temperatures to drop in NYC!
I wondered what I should write about today. My thoughts on LA? My upcoming bi-coastal life? But instead I’ll just say it, simply: ask and ye shall receive. My schedule is packed. I’m doing something every weekend through JUNE. Hopefully I can fit a vacation in this August (here’s hoping I can make it to the Maldives!).
All that to say, anything you ask from life, you will get. Sometimes what we want will make us cry (what you need will pass you by if you don’t catch it!). Sometimes we don’t know what it is that we want. But I’d encourage you to be intentional with your thoughts and goals. Life will hand you what you ask for.
As I wrote in this post, titled, “Set Specific Goals and Write Them Down,” “Just know that whatever you ask out of life…there’s a good chance you will receive it.
I’ll leave you with a little poem from another one of my favorite books, Think and Grow Rich, to further illustrate my point:”
“I bargained with Life for a penny,
And Life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store;
For Life is just an employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.
I worked for a menial’s hire,
Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have paid.”

Love & Light,
*I get two days of respite in NYC, then I’m headed to Houston for an event hosted by the Smahrt Girl Foundation. I’ll be meeting with teen girls at the Dressing the Dream Prom Dress Extravaganza on April 22. Visit www.smahrtgirl.org to help support this great organization.
