Last night, I finally conquered my eye infection, so stepped out for a Becca Cosmetics and Doobop Talk on Beauty featuring Bevy Smith!
I actually kept my glasses on just a bit more to stay on the safe side…
But couldn’t get jiggy with the overall look, so shot last night’s ensemble virtually blind. See how much my eyes are squinted?
I look like a mole! So sad.
At any rate, I kept my look casual for the engagement, wearing a Jonathan Saunders Leanne Merino Sweater and my white Topshop pants (I last wore them to the Studio Museum of Harlem gala).
A fur, Topshop earrings, and a pair of Jimmy Choo’s, and my ensemble was complete.
The talk was so good.
Bevy touched on subjects like definitions of beauty and body image. One quote that stood out to me was, “Sit there, own it, they’ll come around.” A lot of women might feel pressure to conform or tone down their unique traits. I interpreted that to mean: Just DO YOU, fiercely and unapologetically, and people will eventually see your light shining.

At any rate, it was an empowering night! Afterwards, I went home and passed out;)
