My trip to Lagos is wrapping up, but before I timidly head back to NYC on Arik Air (!), I thought I’d update the Bomb Life!
So Cocktails with Claire Lagos had two parts. Part 1 was a shopping party at Meidei, a contemporary store selling African designs. As soon as I walked in, I was surprised to see my face on the Step and Repeat.
That was fun!
Inside the shop, Fashion Bomb readers and Fashion Bomb enthusiasts gathered for strawberry flavored cocktails and light shopping.
I was told that the daytime event would be more casual, so I slipped on an ankara printed skirt by Liberian brand Shop Bombchel by It’s Archel and an Elizabeth and James crop top.
Stuart Weitzman Nudist Sandals completed the look.
Shop Bombchel’s factory hires Ebola affected people, rape survivors, and deaf students to create their clothing. Sadly, they have no e-commerce, but will be taking pre-orders for the skirt in February.
I’ve seen so many brands, like Shop Bombchel, that have great products, but don’t have e-commerce, or apt production capabilities to create their products. Look out in 2016 for a solution!
Until then, thoughts on this look?
